Brabus, the popular aftermarket tuning company best known for customizing Mercedes-Benz and Porsche vehicles, announced its first foray into motorhomes — although “home” is something of an understatement.

The massive Big Boy 1200 is effectively a matte-black mansion on wheels, boasting over 30 square meters of interior space, thanks to two slide-outs that expand the bedroom and “saloon” to 4.5 meters (nearly 15 feet).

It’s also powered by a large 12.8-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel engine, delivering 530 horsepower and 2,600 Newton meters of torque.

Lavish inside and out

Of course, this being a Brabus, size and power aren’t the only premiums.

The bedroom features a double bed, large closet, 43-inch TV, PS5, working desk and Paola Lenti chair; an additional bed above the cockpit can be lowered, as needed.

When you’re not sleeping … or working … or gaming, the living room offers ample seating with leather sofas, while the adjacent cooking area features an induction cooktop, oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. A second TV outfits the space and Starlink internet ensures it’s always connected.

Finally, the bathroom includes a rainforest shower with floor-to-ceiling natural stone, heated floors and a roof window, which can be opened or closed electronically.

All of this sits atop a three-axle chassis with twin-rear tires for safe handling, despite a top speed of only 90 kph (about 56 mph). Hydraulically extendable supports keeps everything level, and for one final trick, Brabus added steps that extend down electronically from the entry door.

Pricing and availability

Brabus has yet to publicly unveil a price for the Big Boy 1200. The company is currently fielding individual inquiries on its website. Expect a lofty price tag.
