Hyundai’s new 2020 Sonata Hybrid is one of our favorite new sedans. It’s remarkably fuel-efficient, earning up to 52 mpg combined. And that’s only one of its charms. The Sonata Hybrid takes a cue from another Hyundai Motor Group vehicle, the Kia Telluride, by feeling premium, being pleasant to drive, and having a lot of space.
While the Sonata Hybrid already offers strong value, Hyundai is sweetening the deal even further with discounts as the car debuts this month. CarsDirect saw a Hyundai Dealer bulletin revealing up to $4,000 in lease incentives on the 2020 Sonata Hybrid.
According to the bulletin, Hyundai is offering $3,000 off on 36-month leases of the Blue trim base model. That discount translates to just $249 per month with $2,699 due at signing. The incentive increases as you move up the trim level, with Hyundai offering $4,000 off a 39-month lease for the top-level Limited trim. Note that Hyundai is not providing the crazy 0% financing deals we’ve seen from other manufacturers if you plan to buy.
Fully electric cars are great, but for a lot of folks they remain out of reach. The technology remains expensive, despite robust federal and state incentives. And even if you can swing that cost, the infrastructure is not where it needs to be, especially if you live in a city and lack convenient Level 2 home charger access.
Leasing a Sonata Hybrid for a few years could be a luxurious, practical, and eco-friendly bridge to a few years from now when owning a full-electric car becomes more manageable.
