2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible

The wraps just came off the Corvette Stingray Convertible, which will be sold alongside the hardtop in the fourth quarter of 2013. Powered by the same potent 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine with 450 hp, the convertible sheds the metal for a fully electronic top that can be deployed or retracted at speeds of up to 30 mph.

By now, you’ve no doubt seen photos of the spectacular 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, the seventh generation of the American icon. Recently in Geneva, the wraps came off the Corvette Stingray Convertible that will be sold alongside the hardtop. Powered by the same potent 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine with 450 hp, the convertible sheds the metal for a fully electronic top that can be deployed or retracted at speeds of up to 30 mph (watch that speedo carefully, or “foom!”) using the car’s key fob. As much as we love the idea of open-top driving, the convertible version really does change the Stingray’s beautiful profile, including the view of the rear side glass that’s new to this iteration of the ‘vette. Regardless of the version you opt for, though, you’ll still be floored by the hoots per dollar that you derive from driving this American exotic. No word on pricing yet, but expect the convertible to go on sale in the 4th quarter of 2013.
