It’s safe to say that Happier Camper, which makes camper vans and trailers that offer maximum flexibility via its modular Adaptiv floorplans that use Lego-like cubes, is one of our favorite companies in the mobile camping space. The company started with its sleek, tiny HC1 trailer, then branched out into floorplan kits for camper vans. Now, for 2020, Happier Camper is debuting the Traveler — a larger, full-service trailer for couples and families.
The Traveler is 17 feet long — about four feet longer than the HC1. The extra space allows for two separate living areas, a fixed wet bath and a fixed kitchen area, including a dual-burner stove, a sink and Dometic drawer fridge. The obligatory cubes can be customized into beds and both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements.
Better news: the Traveler only weighs about 2,500 pounds fully loaded, which permits it to be towed by a wide range of vehicles like the turbocharged Subaru Outback — or, as the pictures here show, a Toyota Sienna. One drawback compared to the HC1, however, is the Traveler doesn’t have a rear hatch opening, so you won’t be able to easily store bikes and other gear while on the road.
According to New Atlas, pricing for the Traveler will start at $39,950, with additional options such as a solar power setup and climate control available.
