GM’s flagship luxury truck is the Sierra Denali, at least until the electric Hummer emerges. It’s impressive. It’s excessive. But for some — i.e. people who have a Ford F-150 Raptor lurking at the house down the street — the stock Sierra Denali may not be enough. For that person, there’s famed tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering. The Texas-based shop has come to GM’s top-shelf pickup to offer the “Goliath” package.
The Goliath package takes GM’s standard 6.2-liter V8, offering 420 horsepower, and adds a 2.9-liter supercharger and the upgrades needed to spit out a total of 700 horsepower. The package costs $26,995 and comes with a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty.
Buyers can add an optional Goliath Off-Road Stage 1 package, which includes a six-inch lift kit, 35-inch tires, 20-inch Hennessey wheels and a Goliath front bumper for $14,950. Hennessey will also fit a Goliath diamond stitch interior, a Goliath ram air hood, a Goliath rear bumper, a stainless steel Cat-back exhaust, and Brembo front brakes a la carte. Go all-in on a hulking, fire-breathing Goliath Sierra Denali, and it’ll cost well north of $100,000 in total.
One place where you could save some money is on the truck itself. You don’t have to begin with a Sierra Denali; the Goliath build is compatible with any 2019-2020 Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra that packs the 6.2-liter V8. If you don’t need that sweet Denali chrome, the Custom Trail Boss Silverado starts at $46,365 before incentives, about $20,000 less than a loaded Sierra Denali.
