In all things, Maserati knows how to excite. Images of the 2013 Maserati Quattroporte have been shared just ahead of its inevitable Detroit debut, proving you can indeed teach an old pony new tricks. While no specific details about the car have been released, the trained eye will pick up hints of a longer wheelbase, striking new taillights, and a new exhaust layout. The exterior narrowly deviates from prior models, but expect a more stylish interior complete with a new dash cluster and touchscreen rear-seat entertainment. Likewise, there’s no definitive word on the sweatshop under the hood; however, a more powerful V8 and an eventual supercharged V6, both paired with an 8-speed automatic, wouldn’t surprise us in the slightest. If the trident doesn’t impress you, go buy a hybrid.
