Ever dreamed of building out a Land Rover into a sweet, and self-contained overlanding rig? One just popped up for sale already made. A Denver-area Craigslist owner is selling an awesome, custom-built Land Rover-based overlanding RV.

The base vehicle is a 2004 Land Rover Discovery II with a V8 engine and 99,800 miles. The owner’s ad contains three magic words you want to read for a 16-year-old Land Rover: extensive preventative maintenance. A previous owner outfitted the rig for a trip to South America.

The cabin passes through to the front seats. It contains amenities including a wet bath, fridge, sink, and two-burner stove. The battery can be charged via an external power source, an inverter, or a 100-watt solar panel. The cabin is heavily insulated for four-season use and the heated front seats purportedly still work.

The owner wants $31,500 for it, which is not so bad in camping/RV terms. It’s much less than this custom Defender rig from ECD Automotive Design.  Recreating a similar overlander on your own could get expensive. Even a quality truck topper can cost more than $30,000, let alone paying for the vehicle and the amenities.
