These 10 New Cars Should Hold Their Value Better Than the Rest

We may not have a crystal ball to look into the future, but we have the next best thing when it comes to automotive resale values: Kelley Blue Book. The renowned research organization has just announced its 2020 Best Resale Value Award winners. Subaru and Porsche took the crowns for best brand and luxury brand, respectively.

KBB also announced the top 10 cars for resale value for 2020. Many of our favorite trucks and SUVs top the list — including, unsurprisingly, plenty of Toyotas. (There’s also one car that’s a bit of a shock; you’ll probably figure out which it is very quickly.)

Check out the top 10 new cars on sale in 2020 with the best-expected resale value below, presented in alphabetical order.

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

The all-new Corvette is expected to still be worth 54.9% of its original value in 2025.

2020 Chevrolet Silverado

In spite of its odd face, the Silverado is expected to hold onto 60.1% of its value over five years.

2020 Ford Ranger

The Ranger may be long in the tooth, but it’s still expected to be worth 59% of its original value in five years.

2020 GMC Sierra

GMC’s newest full-size pickup should hang onto 56% of its value over the next half-decade.

2020 Jeep Gladiator

We love the Gladiator, and so does KBB; they suggest it’ll hold onto about 60% of its value over the next five years.

2020 Jeep Wrangler

Grab a four-door Wrangler today, and expect to get 57.6% of the original value back when you sell it in five years’ time. (The two-door will be worth 51%, for what it’s worth.)

Guts. Glory. Resale value. The stylish Ram 1500 will still be worth an estimated 54.8% of its original value in 2025.

2020 Toyota 4Runner

If you don’t know about the 4Runner’s excellent resale value already, maybe this will make the fact stick: KBB says it’ll hold 56.1% of its original value over five years.

The Taco isn’t just a tasty treat, it’s also a great choice for those seeking value in the long run. KBB estimates it’ll hold 60.6% of its value over five years.

The Tundra may be the oldest full-size pickup on sale, but it’s also a great deal for those seeking a good deal. In five years’ time, KBB says it’ll still be worth 52.7% of its value when new.
