There are plenty of tasty vehicles we never get to see stateside, and though some we won’t lose sleep over, others cause us to drool with desire, like the Citroen Numero 9 Concept. About to make its debut at the Beijing Auto Show, this shooting-brake (European for three or five door station wagons) sports a 225 horsepower plug-in hybrid engine that allows the sleek Numero 9 to travel 31 miles on electricity alone. The 1.6 liter gas engine adds another 70 horsepower and combined with the electric powertrain, pushes the Numero 9 to 60 in a very respectable sub-six seconds. The rear wheel drive Numero 9 will also automatically switch to four wheel drive mode when the going gets slick. We think the overall design could possibly make wagons cool again for the American market if Citroen ever builds it and if Citroen ever makes it to our shores (keep dreaming). Check out more photos and a video after the jump, and try to ignore the fact that the male model could use few sandwiches and a slight cheering up.
