We have just witnessed the birth of a new class of vehicle, and it’s a doozy. Presenting the PAL-V ONE Personal Air and Land Vehicle, a two seat hybrid car and gyroplane. On the road, the 3-wheeled PAL-V ONE can reach speeds up to 112 mph and go from 0 to 60 in about 8 seconds. Thanks to a cutting edge tilting system, the steering emulates the agility and razor sharp cornering of a motorcycle as well. But if crossing a lake, taking a shortcut to a nearby town, or just ballin’ out is on your list, then driving to the nearest airfield and deploying the PAL-V ONE’s blades takes all but 10 minutes. More details and video after the jump.
In the air, it can reach speeds of up to 112 mph and fly at an altitude of 4,000 feet. As it stands, most countries have strict regulations concerning airspace usage, and for good reasons. However, the PAL-V ONE is designed within current certification and regulations frameworks for a vast majority of countries, and no rules need to be changed to be granted use of this vehicle. Small, non-commercial airports are ideal as they offer uncontrolled Visual Flight Rules (VFR) traffic zones. A flyer’s license and flight navigation skills are also obviously required unless you only intend to stay on the ground. But chances are nobody will want to pass the opportunity to soar over a traffic jam and show off to all the poor suckers trapped in it.
