Where its ATS

The 2013 Cadillac ATS is the much anticipated sports sedan from GM, about to make its world debut in Detroit. In development since the early 2000’s, the ATS project had the BMW 3-Series in its crosshairs. But will it be the 3-Series killer it’s intended to be? Cadillac thinks so, and the numbers seem right in line. Just a hair heavier than the current 3-Series, the ATS will have three engine choices to drive the rear wheels. A direct-injection 4-cylinder with 200 horsepower, a turbo 4-cylinder with 270 horsepower and a V6 with a healthy 318 horses. Though we love the distinctly Cadillac and very (good) American design, we also love the fact that the performance and lightness of the car were priorities before the exterior design was even pursued. You won’t be disappointed by the hi-tech amenities and creature comforts, including bluetooth, push-button start, touchscreen controls, a head-up display and nicely bolstered seats for spirited driving. For those driving enthusiasts who are seeking American roots with German performance and family practicality, your carriage is about to arrive. Look for the ATS to arrive in 2012 as a 2013 model, with pricing in line with its German competitor.
