FJ Company built a legendary reputation on painstakingly restoring Toyota Land Cruisers of all vintages. Like a lot of restoration outfits these days, FJ Co. also adds modern touches and performance. Now, FJ Company has launched the G40 program, an all-new online configurator that lets you choose one of three base trim levels and customize yourself.

Start with the Heritage ($160,000), Expedition ($170,000), or Signature ($200,000) trim. From there you can choose from 18 different colors, though the Signature technically gets 36 paint options since you switch a matte finish. Interior colors, upholstery, seating and hard- or soft-top roof styles are all configurable. You can also tack on typical overlanding accessories like a high-lift jack, jerry can and a winch. Signature trim levels get the most modern accoutrements: Recaro seats, King shocks and Evo Corse DAKAR wheels.

Under the hood, FJ Company bolts in the same 4.0L V6 from the FJ Cruiser, good for 228 horsepower, but there’s an option to add a Magnuson Supercharger for a 90 horsepower bump. (Pro tip: add the supercharger if nothing else.) As with most online configurators, the G40 program is, thankfully, a consequence-free playground. Check the boxes for the hard top, diff-lockers, sport seats, overland accessories and a handful of other enticing add-ons and you’re looking at an extra $20,000 on top of the base price.
