There are a few ways to update your old ride — everything from new tires to infotainment systems and digital tire pressure caps can bring a vintage car into the 21st century. AT&T is now getting into the market with an incredibly novel approach, the Harman Spark OBD II plug.
The Harman Spark works on any car from 1996 or newer, fits in the OBD II outlet and brings your car up to date with features like emergency services, 4G LTE hotspot WiFi, theft alert and location tracking. AT&T says you can make parking reservations and keep an eye on your car’s maintenance through the app as well.
The Harmon Spark comes with an $80 price tag and a $5 per month service subscription. It’s not the first of its kind, but the Harman Spark is the first OBD2 plug-in upgrade to come from a major communications company like AT&T. And, with the classic car bubble making its way through the early ’90s, the release of the Harman Spark couldn’t be better timed.
