Earlier this fall, Amazon revealed an all-new product: Amazon Auto. While it won’t grant you access to HOV lanes, Amazon Auto allows you to take Alexa with you on the road.

Broadcasting through your car stereo via Bluetooth, Amazon Auto draws off your smartphone’s data plan and is powered by your car’s USB or 12V outlet. With the little $50 ($25 if you preorder) device, you can control all manner of functions using only your voice, just like you can with Amazon’s other Alexa-enabled products: play music, activate navigation and make calls. Alexa can check your calendar or set reminders on the go and, utilizing location-based programming, Alexa can turn on your smart home functions as you pull in the driveway.

For the time being, you can request an invitation to pre-order Echo Auto, which will come at a 50 percent discount from the full $50 price.
