Ford continues to stoke our daydream furnace with hints and murmurs surrounding its upcoming revival of the Bronco 4×4, and with its latest tease, the company has confirmed much of what we hoped. Namely, the shape beneath this conspicuously mud-spattered drop cloth is mostly boxy, with short front and rear overhangs and tall tires/wheel wells. That further suggests most everyone’s suspicion that the truck will be a truly rugged, capable off-roader based on the Ranger truck platform. The ruby-red, shadowy teaser shot of the Jeep Wrangler-challenger also suggests a strong Ford-family resemblance.
Here’s hoping Ford goes all out and offers a highly-upgradable basic package, replete with manual transmission and a torquey, grunt of a powertrain.
