Starting February 3rd, the Petersen will host 50 examples of the best Porsches from the past 70-plus years. While we don’t necessarily agree that cars belong in museums and not on the streets, there’s no denying that this group — what the Petersen calls “the most comprehensive Porsche display outside of Stuttgart” — deserves to be ogled and kept perfectly pristine.

The exhibit is called “The Porsche Effect” and will run for an entire year, through January of 2019. Klaus Zellmer, President and CEO of Porsche’s North American wing, said of the exhibit, “we are looking forward to sharing the story of Porsche through rare and seldom seen artifacts and display elements, in addition to some of the most iconic cars or all time.” Those cars include everything from 550 Spyders to an “X83” Turbo S Flachbau 964 (the controversial ‘flatnose’) to Le Mans winners to 928 prototypes.
