Aston Martin needs no introduction. Their cars have worn and continue to wear some of the sexiest sheet metal in the automotive world. Zagato may be lesser known in the general public, but the Italian design house has partnered with the likes of Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lancia and Alfa Romeo for decades, using its knowledge of airplane design techniques to bring sleek and sexy elements to cars with dramatic and timeless designs. Using the V12 Vantage as the basis, Aston Martin and Zagato have recently unveiled the breathtakingly beautiful Aston Martin V12 Zagato at the Concorso d’Eleganza in Lake Como, Italy, and the results are nothing short of lustworthy. Zagato’s signature twin bubble roof echoes some of the Zagato classics and pairs nicely with more modern design elements like the deep set side vents and the prominent rear diffuser. It’s powered by the standard 6.0 liter V12 found in the Vantage (as if there’s anything standard about it), unleashing 510 horsepower at 6500 rpm, good to 190 mph. If the motoring world gets its druthers, we’ll see this beauty produced in limited numbers and, yes, in a GT3 racing version that will surely put more power to the pavement than even this looker.
