In the continuous push to update its entire lineup, Audi finally got around to revamping the A7, giving it the current family design language and a similar arsenal of tech to that found in the A8. It’s the biggest update the fastback sedan has seen since it was introduced back in 2012.
The widely loved sloped roofline returns, of course, but the most notable adjustments to the car’s physical features have to do with its actual footprint. The executive four-door measures a little over 16 feet long; it has a 9.6-foot wheelbase and a width of 6.3 feet, and it’s just under 5 feet tall. Now that the chassis has grown considerably in size, Audi has had a lot more room to play with inside the car, where the next-biggest updates happened.
The infotainment system now consists of two vertically stacked touchscreens (a 10.1-inch upper screen and an 8.6-inch unit on the bottom), replacing the rotary dials for controlling the radio, navigation and climate control and adding text inputs. And, as expected, the dashboard display is now Audi’s venerable virtual cockpit.
For now, the only engine that will be available at launch will be a 3.0-liter turbo V6 good for 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Production is slated to begin February of 2018, but as of yet, no pricing has been announced.
