Editor’s Note: We love scouring the internet for reasons to spend money we don’t have on cars we daydream about owning, and these are our picks this week. All prices listed are bid amounts at the time of publishing.

Enjoying the great outdoors, comfortably, for a weekend doesn’t require incredibly refined searches for AirBnBs out in the middle of nowhere, expensive boutique hotel lodges or even more expensive RVs. All you need is a good collection of camping gear and a trusty overlander that can get you out to the wilderness and back. Cargo space and a roof rack are a plus, especially if you’re bringing a few friends or family — but the beautiful truth is that you don’t need much to get off the grid.

1967 Land Rover 109 Series IIA NADA

Found-4-Overlanders-gear-patrol-Land-Rover

What we like: This Series II certainly is the oldest car here (not by much, though), but its character, rugged good looks and spartan interior are hard to beat. The luxuries pretty much stop at the aftermarket safari rack, modern seatbelts and easy-to-clean Rhino-lined floor and bed: the perfect low-maintenance getaway vehicle.
From the seller: A refurbishment by the second owner is thought to have included a repaint, new clutch, brakes, and a rebuild of the 2625cc inline-six eight years ago. Alterations from stock include an aftermarket safari rack, modern seatbelts, a hydraulic clutch, and rhino-lined flooring. The current owner acquired this example three years ago and has added only 500 miles since.

Mileage: TMU (refurbished)
Location: Springfield, Missouri

1972 Ford Bronco

Found-4-Overlanders-gear-patrol-Bronco

What we like: The Bronco is the pricier option here, but it may just take you the farthest. After a frame-off restoration, the old Bronco got pretty much new everything. Technically it’s the second-oldest car on this list. But only in spirit.
From the seller: It underwent a body-off restoration around four years ago and was cosmetically and mechanically modified at that time. Cosmetic changes included refinishing the two-tone paint, installing a Badlands winch, fitting 17? [sic] KMC XD Series off-road rims and more. The Ford Racing 302ci crate motor features MSD Atomic EFI and is paired to an NV3550 five-speed manual.

Mileage: 8,617 Miles, TMU (restored)
Location: Center, Colorado

2003 Volkswagen Eurovan MV Weekender

Found-4-Overlanders-gear-patrol-Eurovan

What we like: The Eurovan MV Weekender is definitely an old soul dressed in contemporary clothing. Sticking to national park roads or more refined campsites might be a good idea with the Eurovan since it’s not as capable off-road as the others.
From the seller: This 2003 Volkswagen Eurovan MV Weekender is a 20K mile example from the final year of T4 Volkswagen Transporter production. Powered by a 24-valve 2.8L VR6, this example features a Westfalia pop-top, flat folding rear bench, and table for rear seat passengers.

Mileage: 20,743
Location: Latham, New York

1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60

Found-4-Overlanders-gear-patrol-Land-Cruiser

What we like: The beautiful brown paint alone might just be enough to warrant a serious bid on this FJ60.
From the seller: Records indicate the carburetor was rebuilt in 2015 and a full fluid change was just completed by the seller. Wearing a repaint in the original factory color, modifications are said to be limited to installation of aftermarket side mirrors.

Mileage: 153,375
Location: San Francisco, California
