Are you disappointed with the mundane and milquetoast V12-powered Mercedes G65? Was the $220,400 price tag, 621 horsepower, 738 lb-ft of torque and 0-60 mph time of 5.2 seconds just not enough for you? Understandable. And famed Mercedes tuner Brabus understands your plight. That’s why it just introduced the Brabus 900 “One of Ten.”
Keeping with Brabus tradition, the 900 indicates the horsepower Brabus was able to crank out of this monstrosity and to keep the numbers game going; it also has 1,106 lb-ft of torque. That makes it the most powerful V12 off-road vehicle in the world — though I’m not sure there was much competition. The new Brabus deals with the 0-60 mph sprint in 3.9 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 168 mph, which also makes it the fastest V12 off-roader on the market.
The Brabus 900 will make its official debut at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show. Only 10 examples will be made, and each will carry a price tag of just over $790,000. For all of that, you get the mountain of aforementioned performance coerced out of a larger-than-stock 6.3-liter twin turbo V12, a wide body kit and an interior draped in custom leather upholstery.
It’s about time someone made the G65 stand out. At least now, owners might be able to find it among the sea of SUVs crowding the parking lot.
