The world of family-friendly off-roaders is definitely heating up — and it’s being fueled by the long-awaited return of the Ford Bronco and the soon to be released next-generation Jeep Wrangler. While we have to wait another year or two to know for sure what the Bronco will actually look like, a member of JL Wrangler Forum caught a video of the upcoming Jeep testing at Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Silver Lake, Michigan.

Not much can be surmised from the short videos but what we can see is two of the bigger design changes Jeep promised: a more angled windshield and grille. It may not sound like much but the changes are expected to make the JL Wrangler the most modern-looking Wrangler yet. As for power, that’s still anyone’s guess but Chrysler’s Pentastar V6 and a 2.0-liter turbocharged plant are safe bets, while the 3.0-liter diesel from the Grand Cherokee may have an outside chance.
