But, the long-roofed family-mobile looks to be making a quiet comeback in America with offerings from Audi, Volvo and Jaguar. And if there is one kind of wagon we love here in the States, it’s a beefed-up muscle wagon. So before the trend takes off (again), get one of these wagons built for speed and comfort.

What we like: It’s understated, inconspicuous and gray, but factor in the 300 horsepower turbo engine, six-speed manual and AWD — and you have one hell of a sleeper on your hands.
