Ever since the F-150 Raptor changed the game, the philosophy of beefed-up trucks has seen that almost all of them turn into off-road beasts. As a result, we’ve been without a serious street rod like the Ford Lightning for quite some time. The iconic tuning outfit, Shelby American just changed that.
This weekend, Shelby will officially unveil the F-150 Super Snake, but act fast, because only 150 examples will be available. Shelby is offering two engine options for the new hot rod truck: a 395 horsepower version (the one you don’t want), and one with a 750 horsepower, supercharged 5.0-liter V8 (the one one you do want). The latter engine choice comes with a $101,595 price tag, but with that, you also get a Shelby styled hood, intake, body kit and grille, Fox shocks, BFGoodrich K02 tires and a Shelby-tuned Borla exhaust.
Following in the footsteps and tradition of great muscle trucks like the GMC Syclone, Ford SVT Lightning and Dodge Ram SRT-10, the new F-150 Super Snake is a nice, modern addition to the club.
