The recipe for the perfect weekend is a pretty simple one: 70 degrees, blue sky, zero emails and no grass to cut. Throw in a 503 horsepower convertible, a tank of gas and a great playlist, and you’re in heaven. To create an unforgettable Saturday afternoon, Mercedes took me to Atlanta, and gave me the keys to a 2017 Mercedes C63 S Cabriolet. The weekend gods gave me a mid-seventies bluebird afternoon. Those emails would have to wait.
I pressed the start button on the pearl white, red-accented convertible; its engine erupted in kind with a #StrongToVeryStrong AMG growl. Four hours later I ended up in Savannah with a nice spring tan and a new infatuation with a model from Stuttgart. Here’s what makes it the perfect weekend car:
The Perfect Amount of Flair

There’s a fine line between “meh” and “whoa” when it comes to design. This car walks it like a boss. Bold lines are complemented by the perfect number of chrome accents. Clean touches of carbon fiber are apparent on the exterior. The steering wheel has leather and suede for the perfect amount of grip and ideal handfeel while taking corners. “AMG” logos are subtly placed throughout the car to remind you that you’re sitting inside a high-performance machine.
