Dreams can become reality, even in the automotive world. In the fall of 2010, GP teased you with images of the then predicted arrival of the Ford Focus ST . We started hoping for an American hot hatch we could both believe in and thrash around the track. Hope no more. It’s official and Ford has confirmed it. NAIAS (aka, the Detroit Auto Show) has revealed the final product, and it is Gear Patrol Orange beautiful. With a high output 2.0L EcoBoost engine, beefier brakes and a sophisticated sport suspension system, Ford claims that the Focus ST truly delivers in the areas of driving precision and handling, as well as outright performance. Preliminary numbers show that this mini-beast will hustle to 60 in around six seconds. Leave your hairpiece and your hula-girl dash ornament at home. The interior is no slouch, either. A refined dash and cool blue electronic displays, coupled with a sport steering wheel and optional leather Recaro seats adorn the cockpit.
