Polish tuners Carlex Design once produced the most opulent Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen we’ve ever seen. Now, they have turned their attention to the new Land Rover Defender with the Defender Yachting Edition. It’s a build that will blow a top-trim Defender X with the Explorer Pack out of the water with modern luxury yacht style — and, ironically, look most out of place among the artfully worn Grand Wagoneers at a fancy East Coast yacht club.
The Defender Yachting Edition’s exterior is relatively restrained. It picks up brushed silver body paint with a matching brushed silver Yachting Edition spare tire cover. There’s also some Carlex Design decals above the grille and on the C-pillar.

It’s the interior of the Defender Yachting Edition where things get truly palatial. There’s wood flooring in the cabin area, and wood rear seat backs and trunk bed in the cargo hold. It comes in two interior trims: caramel-like leather with brushed silver trim, or a silvery leather with brown wood trim.
Carlex Design does not mention the cost for the Defender Yachting Edition — but according to their website, the company’s interior redesigns alone can cost north of $30,000, and this build has exterior modifications as well. Throw in buying the Defender itself (and getting the SUV to and from Poland), and we can presume your price would be well into swanky old Defender resto-mod territory.

That said, f you like the idea of the Defender Yachting Edition but need something a bit showier, Carlex Design also has an epic-looking Steampunk Edition of the Mercedes G-Wagen on offer.
