Ducati, of course, is best known for its motorcycles — screaming track terrors, burly scramblers, nasty sport nakeds, and all sorts of other wild two-wheeled machines guaranteed to give you a good time. But the company also dabbles in other sorts of bikes on the side — specifically, e-bikes.
The first was the MIG-RR, which may sound like a Russian fighter jet, but is actually a electrically-assisted mountain bike; then came the e-Scrambler, a city-friendly trekker. Now, Ducati is adding not one but three more e-bikes to the portfolio — and these ones are even better-suited for urban living, because they fold up.
The SCR-E and SCR-E Sport are both easy to spot, thanks to their Wiz Khalifa-approved color scheme, and pack features like an external temperature gauge, automatic headlamps and integrated tail lamps. The Sport version, however, packs a bigger battery — a 468 watt-hour job, versus the 374 watt-hour one in the regular SCR-E — which lets it travel up to 50 miles on a charge. The SCR-E Sport also scores a full suspension, making it better suited to soaking up bad roads.
Then there’s the Ducati Urban-E — which, as you might imagine, is particularly well-suited for city livin’, what with its emphasis on style. (Notable design firm Italdesign helped whip it up.) The sleek red-and-black bike’s frame conceals a 374 watt-hour battery capable of providing added shove for 43 miles; like its siblings, it also packs an LCD instrument panel and LED headlamps, but the latter is split in two around the front fork.
