Editor’s Note: We love scouring the internet for reasons to spend money we don’t have on cars we daydream about owning, and these are our picks this week. All prices listed are bid amounts at the time of publishing.

The new Range Rover Velar goes on sale later this year, and it promises to be a fairly simple and user-friendly SUV with host of modern electronics and a straightforward user interface. That’s great. What we like: This Defender might be the antithesis of the new Velar, in terms of luxury, but then again, some might say simplicity is a luxury lost on modern cars. How do you not fall in love with this thing at first sight?

What we like: Apart from a few minor blemishes, this FJ is in really good condition for the mileage shown (165,000 miles). A Land Cruiser of this vintage is barely in the second half of its life — move quickly.
From the seller: The 4.0 liter 3F-E inline-six is mated to an A440f 4-speed automatic transmission, and records indicate regular maintenance was performed by the seller including a new A/C compressor, R134 conversion, new fuel rail, O2 sensors, gaskets, and valve adjustment.
