A daily driver should be reliable enough to go the distance, but fun enough that you’ll actually want to.

Editor’s Note: We love scouring the internet for reasons to spend money we don’t have on cars we daydream about owning, and these are our picks this week. All prices listed are bid amounts at the time of publishing.

The two most important characteristics of a daily driver are (1) incredible reliability, and (2) being entertaining enough that you don’t eventually dread every time you get in and turn the key. But of course, mileage and simple servicing are key. Luckily there are plenty of new and vintage cars can cover all these bases.

1975 Ford Bronco

What we like: The Bronco is a do-it-all SUV, and with just over 15,435 miles, this one is practically new. Not to mention it’s been kept in show condition for over three decades.
From the seller: Original uncut 1975 Bronco with 15,435 original miles. This Bronco sat in a barn for over 20 years. I am only the third owner; previous owner owned it for 20 years and only used it for local car shows, always garage kept.”

Mileage:15,435
Location: Byron, California

1987 Honda Civic

What we like: The exterior may have a dent and a scratch or two, and sure, the interior is an acquired taste, but judging by the engine compartment and the 64,000 on the odometer, this Civic still has a lot of love to give. If you’re looking to impress pedestrians, keep scrolling; if you want a reliable, sensible Japanese hatchback, click away.
From the seller: “This car retains its California emissions equipment and recently passed an emissions test following a carburetor rebuild. Over $3k was spent in recent services, and the car is now offered with a clean Autocheck report and a clean California title in the seller’s name.”

Mileage: 64,000
Location: Elk Grove, California

2002 BMW M5

What we like: An E39 M5 with low miles like this is increbily rare, and this one is nowhere near its breaking point. You could probably get 50,000 more miles out of this car before any major service is needed. Drive it daily, take it on road trips — you’ll understand why the M5 is so coveted.
From the seller: “Roughly 5k miles added during two-year ownership. Other than a need for new turn signal lights, there are no outlying issues.”

Mileage: 53,750
Location: Dayton, Ohio

2000 Honda S2000

What we like: Yes, it’s a two-seater sports car but with 8,400 miles on the clock. But the Honda engine is barely broken in. Someone’s gotta do it.
From the seller: “This 2000 Honda S2000 has just 8,400 miles and is a two-owner example finished in New Formula Red over Black. The car has been registered in New Jersey from new and features minor modifications, including an Alpine Bluetooth stereo head unit, AP2 radio door cover and aftermarket Honda badges.”

Mileage:8,400
Location: Pompton Plains, New Jersey
