Hyundai Ups Its Luxury Game

10 years ago, nobody would’ve figured Hyundai could produce a luxury car that could compete with the Europeans — the Genesis has been proof they can, but their new Vision G concept could be the harbinger of Korean luxury dominance. On the outside, the front doesn’t stray from the current Genesis too much, but the roofline and rear end have hints of Rolls-Royce Wraith and Jaguar XJ to them. On the inside, the Hyundai is appointed with lavish white leather and a healthy dose of unpolished wood.

Lamborghini’s 217 mph Roadster

Lamborghini just took the top off of its Aventador Superveloce, thus creating an open-top car with a 217 mph top speed, a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds and a massive, adjustable rear wing. The roof itself comes in two pieces of carbon fiber that only weigh 13 pounds; Lamborghini says it’s easy to put on and take off thanks to a quick release system. Only 500 cars will be made, so if you want one, act fast.

Tianjin Explosion Destroys Brand-New Volkswagens

The chemical blast that occurred recently in Tianjin reportedly destroyed over 1,500 Volkswagens sitting in a warehouse in the port city. These included mostly Beetles and Touaregs as well as other VW cars that were supposed to be distributed throughout China.

Guy Martin Breaks His Back

At the recent Ulster Dundrod 150 superbike race, Guy Martin had a massive accident which resulted in him getting thrown into a barrier and breaking his back. Though he says he’ll be back to work, and has already checked himself out of the hospital, it does mean his land speed record attempt will be postponed.

Indycar Returns to Road America

Road America, the legendary 14-turn, four-mile circuit, will be hosting Indycar races for the first time since 2007 next year, which appeased fans who were asking for the event to return.

The First Boeing 727 Flies One Last Time

The first Boeing 727 built is going to fly one last time. Gifted to the Museum of Flight 27 years ago, the 727 has been under restoration, but as it nears completion it will make one last flight to Boeing Field.
