The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is the classic camper van platform. Whether you’re looking for a luxurious motor home or an overlanding adventure van, the Sprinter can be configured to suit your needs.

Tiffin is a motor home company that is not normally associated with Sprinters. The brand — which is owned by Thor Industries, making it a sister brand of Airstream — specializes in massive traditional RVs that are dripping with amenities.

However, Tiffin does offer one van: the GH1. The brand has just launched an all-new iteration of its sole adventure van for 2025, and it just might be the best combination of off-road readiness and luxury vibes I’ve ever seen in a Sprinter van conversion.

The Luxurious Side

The GH1 really focuses on allowing you to enjoy all the comforts of home while off the grid, and there are really no compromises when it comes to the van’s many amenities.

Power comes from your choice of a 540- or 810-amp Battle Born lithium-ion battery kit, along with a 220-watt solar panel and a 3,000-watt inverter for powering all your gadgets.

A 15,000-BTU air conditioner equipped with an energy-saving heat pump and Bluetooth controls is standard, as is an automatic wall-mounted thermostat.

The van is equipped with Mercedes-Benz WiFi, along with wiring for Starlink satellite internet. Optionally, you can have Starlink Pro factory-installed so you’re ready to stay connected anywhere you go as soon as you drive off the lot.

The interior layout features a power-lifting two-person bed at the rear with a gear garage underneath; a wet bath with a fan, cassette toilet and a hot shower featuring a skylight; and a kitchen with a stainless steel sink and faucet, a trendy induction cooktop, a powered roof vent, a freezer/fridge combo, and plenty of storage and counter space.

Finally, the living/dining area features a swivel table and a suite of overhead cabinets, and then the option of either a two-person luxury jump seat or what Tiffin calls an “Adventure Bar,” which is a two-tier work desk accessible by swiveling around the driver’s seat and featuring loads of storage and outlets.

The Adventurous Side

I think I’ve established that the GH1 is quite cozy once you reach the campsite, but first, you’ll need to get there. That’s where the vehicle’s many off-road features come in.

The van is built on the Mercedes-Benz 2500 Sprinter cargo van chassis, but it’s a whole lot more capable of tackling rough terrain than your standard Sprinter.

The adventure vehicle is equipped with custom off-road adventure wheels from Tiffin that are wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. The van’s ground clearance has been raised and optimized for traversing uneven surfaces, and it’s aided by a beefy Fox shocks-equipped suspension system from Agile Offroad.

The van is all-wheel drive and is powered by a twin-turbo 2.0L four-cylinder diesel engine putting out 208 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. You’re not going to win any drag races in this thing, but there’s plenty of power to get you where you need to go.

The exterior is fitted with a number of off-road goodies that make this one of the best-looking Sprinter vans out there and will come in handy in the great outdoors. They include a side-mounted fully welded roof ladder, a powered patio awning with built-in LEDs, a low-profile roof rack and matching light bar, rear mudguards, a fold-down table for outdoor dining and running boards underlit by even more LEDs. Hell, there’s even a built-in air compressor.

Pricing and Availability

Tiffin is basically a luxury brand, so the GH1 obviously isn’t cheap. The brand doesn’t list prices on its website, but a quick Google search of dealers offering 2025 models shows they usually go for around $175,000.

That’s a massive chunk of change to be sure, but if you look at comparable options, the price is actually pretty reasonable. For example, War Horse All Terrain‘s ultra-luxe camper vans start at $250,000.

So when you combine the GH1’s competitive price with its top-notch amenities and off-road capabilities, well, you might just be looking at the best all-around adventure van on the market.
