Infiniti has a new car, finally. And it’s more like the Land Cruiser than the new Land Cruiser.

The 2024 Infiniti QX80, the brand’s flagship, three-row, body-on-frame, full-size SUV, is one of the oldest vehicles on the road. The current-generation model entered production back in April 2010. Infiniti is finally launching an all-new version of the QX80 for 2025.

Not surprisingly, Infiniti opted not to revive the half-bubble top look from the first generation. However, the new QX80 does have some key upgrades that should help it become a more credible rival for vehicles like the Lexus LX and the Range Rover.

Here’s what you need to know about the 2025 Infiniti QX80.

The Infiniti QX80 is switching to a V6

Infiniti is swapping the Nissan 5.6-liter V8 from the outgoing Titan for a new twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The new setup produces 450 horsepower (+50 hp over previous-gen) and 516 lb-ft of torque (+103 lb-ft).

The Infiniti QX80 is getting dramatically more expensive

The improved product is going to cost more. For the 2024 model year, the base Luxe trim started at $74,150. The new base Pure RWD trim for 2025 begins at $82,450. Instead of topping out at $88,450 with the Sensory 4WD trim, the 2025 QX80 offers an Autograph 4WD trim that starts at $110,595. Those figures exclude the mandatory $1,995 destination and handling charge.

We can presume an upcoming, related Nissan Armada will start at a much cheaper price point.

The Infiniti QX80 packs some interesting tech

The Infiniti QX80 has some intriguing luxury tech features. A Biometric cooling feature can detect whether rear passengers are too warm and redirect cooler air to them. The front camera will offer a Front Wide View that spans 14.3-inch screens, allowing the driver to see around tight corners, and an Invisible Hood View to view obstacles in front. The QX80 also offers a 24-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere sound system.
