New rumors suggest that the Apple Vision Pro will likely go on sale around March 2024. Previous reports had said that the company planned to launch the device in January, but apparently visionOS is taking more time to polish than expected. While just two months behind schedule, this news comes as a pretty big blow to the most die-hard fans, who have been itching to purchase their own device since it was fully revealed at WWDC 2023 (i.e. in June of this year). Of course, it’s set to launch with a $3,499 price tag, so there are probably fewer die-hard fans to really hold off, but for those who are especially curious; you can find our initial review here.

Today we’re taking a look at SkiSkates, NightWatch and a handy belt from Nobis. This is Today in Gear.

Turn Your Apple Watch Into an Alarm Clock

The team at NightWatch ($59) created a simple base made of solid lucite, to house your Apple Watch after hours. To use, fans can pop their watch into the back of the device (where they’ll also find a designated spot for their charger). The NightWatch then magnifies the watch’s display and uses a sound chamber to amplify the watch’s alarm. The result? A futuristic little pod that functions like an alarm clock.

SkiSkates Are Here to Change the Game

SKiSkates ($300) are the world’s shortest skis. They can fit in a backpack, but because of their size, they fuse the functionality of both skiing and skating. As a result, users can achieve all sorts of twists, jumps and tricks they wouldn’t be able to do on normal skis. Plus, to make things even easier, SkiSkates are also one size fits all and designed to attach to any traditional snowboard boots or ski boots.

A Versatile Belt for Winter and Beyond

The Cylar Unisex Tactical Modular Belt ($275) can be worn as a traditional belt or as a crossbody bag. Its integrated pockets are secured with waterproof zippers for better weather proofing, and the piece fastens at its center with a matte black cobra buckle. A great pick for cyclists, commuters and lightweight hikers; the bag can also be used to weigh down bulky winter layers.
