Yamaha unveiled a new self-balancing electric motorcycle — but guess what it doesn’t have: Handlebars. To be fair, Yamaha technically unveiled the ‘Motoroid’ electric motorcycle concept about six years ago. Now,the refined Yamaha Motoroid 2 is taking the design one step further. To ensure stability, the bike’s rear swingarm provides both suspension and the ability to pivot to allow the bike to lean independently on the front. Meanwhile, the front fork delivers handlebar-free steering, though it’s not exactly clear how the front fork rotates. Either way, the bike seems set on paving the way for weirder, wilder motorcycles to come.

Prepare to Be Stunned, All Over Again

Girard-Perregaux’s Neo Constant Escapement has been a long time coming. In 2008, the brand released its first prototype using a silicium blade, and in 2013 the next (official release) version won the GPHG’s Aiguille d’Or. Now, the new Neo Constant Escapement (93510-21-1930-5CX) takes this technology to the next level with a skeletonized in-house caliber, COSC-certified chronometer and a new ‘fifth wheel’ connected to the gear train.
