Looking for the latest on Anchor Brewing? Well, here’s a quick recap: At the start of the year, the company remained the oldest craft brewer in the United States. In 2019, its employees voted to unionize, and in July 2023, the company said that due to economic pressures, it had “no option but to make [the] sad decision to cease operations.” Now, a network of core employees have formed a co-op with the intention of purchasing and running the business collectively, and carrying on Anchor’s legacy. Fans can donate to the group’s GoFundMe here, to help propel this small team forward.
