Meta will launch a web version of the Threads app early this week. The company expects that a desktop version will help the app compete with X, though membership and usage has fluctuated since the app’s launch. Last month, Threads registered over 100 million users in five days. However, over the next month, time spent on the platform fell by 85 percent. Now, Meta’s Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri confirms that the company has been using an early version of the web app for at least ‘a week or two,’ adding that it ‘still needs some work before we can open it up to everyone though.’

Today we’re taking a look at new releases from Demon, WE Knife Co. and CW&T. This is Today in Gear.

Demon is Back, With a Vengeance

Initially founded in 1963, Demon was relaunched, and revived, in 2020 by SlamJam. Now, it’s back with new boots that seem to position the brand somewhere between ROA and MSCHF. For example, while the eclectic Poyana boots are just waiting to be meme-ified, the Vipara Boots ($417) are sleek, futuristic, and somehow of the same blood as ROA’s latest loafers and boots. Finished with an extra-light Vibram rubber outsole and added waterproofing, these technical shoes are built to impress.

Described as a ‘flat, durable bookmark pen,’ the device is designed to be clipped on — or tucked into — a notebook. Available now in 13 colorways, including three sleek titanium versions, this pen is truly EDC-worthy.
