Tesla just acquired the wireless charging firm Wiferion. The Germany-based EV charging company typically focuses on industrial equipment, and says its chargers can offer a more efficient charging experience. In the past, the startup has centered around creating (and optimizing) charging equipment for trucks and forklifts, but now, many suspect they may be the key to Tesla’s long-desired ‘robotic charging arm.’ If the team succeeds there, Tesla could become the first automaker to implement large-scale wireless charging technology.

Today we’re taking a look at an exciting new road bike, backpack and stylish soccer ball. This is Today in Gear.

canopy self watering planter LSA

LSA’s Self-Watering Planter ($128) is handmade from recycled glass, and designed for small herbs or houseplants. The planter’s base has been fit with a sustainably-sourced cork bung that automatically draws water up (through a cord) to your plant’s roots. As a result, users can simply fill the bottom compartment with water, and count on the plant to suck the water up whenever it’s thirsty. Fans can also shop the brand’s full collection of new arrivals to find colorful glassware, chic vases and more.
