Rivian has announced that the new R2 lineup will be revealed next year, with production starting in 2026. Priced at roughly $40,000, the new series will include an SUV as well as multiple truck variants, most of which will retail around $30,000 less than the average Rivian today. In the past, Rivian ran into delays with both its R1T and R1S, so fans are more than justified to be skeptical about a 2026 release. Nevertheless, the company’s CFO Claire McDonough has emphasized the company’s plans to offset these delays by working with new suppliers and scaling the larger Rivian platform to meet growing demand.
