This week, the world’s very first all-electric passenger plane took flight. The Eviation Aircraft Alice set off on its eight-minute inaugural flight on Tuesday, where it soared up from Grant County International Airport in Washington state to an altitude of 3,500 feet. Right now, the Alice is equipped to carry two pilots and up to nine passengers, though the company has high hopes for its future aircraft. Eviation CEO Gregory Davis explained that he’d like to see the company’s passenger planes traveling 200 to 300 nautical miles per trip, though its plane batteries are still unfinalized. Consequently, production of the Alice is expected to hopefully kick off in 2027, with pricing moving up from $4 million.
