Harbinger Motors Inc. plans to introduce itself to the masses at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show. The California-based electric vehicle startup company is basing its initial product line around an electric stripped chassis and cab chassis designed for Class 4 and Class 7 vehicles. By late 2023, the company also hopes to pilot a small set of vehicles; before beginning volume production – in Michigan – by 2024. Notably, Harbinger’s vehicles will offer a proprietary ‘eAxle’ that combines the motor, gearbox and inverter as one integrated unit. The company expects to scale quickly and is currently “venture-backed.”

Manitobah Celebrates Indigenous Products, Creators and Communities

In 1997 Métis entrepreneur Sean McCormick founded Manitobah Mukluks to create a brand that could benefit Indigenous communities. Now, 25 years later, the company continues to sell authentic, Indigenous-designed products that return value to Indigenous communities. Standouts include fur-trimmed, Deerskin Moccasins lined with fleece and featuring a sturdy leather sole. Alternatively, Manitobah’s Bloom Moccasins feature real glass crystals beaded across black suede hides. Each pair retail for $140 and $120, respectively, though Manitobah offers a full range of fur-lined moccasins – with additional styles starting at $60.
