Nike recently announced plans to release its most innovative textile since DRI-Fit. The new material, entitled Nike Forward, can be created with a carbon footprint 75 percent lower than other competing fabrics thanks to an innovative new manufacturing process. To make it, Nike simply runs fiber through a needle-punch to create a workable cloth. Its newest pieces made with Nike Forward also boast up to 70 percent recycled content by weight, and can be constructed with fabrics from industrial or post-consumer waste. Fans interested in trying the material for themselves can shop Nike Forward crew and hoodie styles from the full collection launching September 15.
