Highland Systems has developed an armored submarine capable of diving depths of over 800 feet and hitting speeds of up to 50 mph over water (as well as 30 mph below the surface). The sub’s design was inspired by a ray and measures over thirty feet long, powered by a combination diesel generator and 1,200-horsepower electric jet ski powertrain. 11 people can fit inside the submarine, which has a maximum runtime of 54 hours. Boasting air conditioning and torpedo launchers, interested parties will have to contact the brand to learn exactly how much the armored Kronos submarine will cost.

Code41 Releases a Credit Card Shaped Timepiece

Code41 has teased a new design called the ‘Mecascape.’ The device is the shape and size of a credit card and is made of grade 5 titanium. Meanwhile, a sapphire crystal panel shields the 237 components housed inside. The device will launch for pre-order in ten colorways, each retailing for $9,360, on November 2. Boasting an eight-day power reserve, the manually-wound timepiece is equipped to display hours, minutes, seconds, a GMT function and a power reserve indicator.

All Designs Lab Makes a Racket

Named for the Lenape people’s word for “tree,” All Design Lab’s new “Hìtëkw” tennis racket was designed to evoke organic roots and branches. With the help of AI, the company decided to redesign the classic tennis racket silhouette. The brand emphasizes that “rackets have become more lightweight and durable through new materials and advanced manufacturing techniques. Yet the potential is still there to envision an even lighter and stronger racket” – but did not reveal what material this new racket will be made with. While not yet released for retail, the company hopes to use the piece to “spark design development and advancement in the sport” and continue the concept series.
