Forget pigs – now cars are flying. Samson’s experimental Switchblade Flying Car was recently deemed safe for flight testing by the FAA – and users can already reserve a model for no fee today. The Switchblade is a three-wheel, street legal vehicle you can drive directly onto the tarmac at your airport. From there, the car’s wings and tail will extend (in under three minutes). Once in the air, the “car” can fly at up to 200 miles per hour and 13,000 feet. On the ground, it can hit a max driving speed of 125 miles per hour, and gets about 33 miles per gallon. While production has not yet begun, fans can pre-order the vehicle for $150,000. However, with the EU ruling out gas-powered cars by 2035 – Samson fans better hope this project can get off the ground sooner than later.
