Outdoor lovers and gearheads may be rolling their eyes, but it seems more and more brands are releasing collections that are “inspired by nature.” Earlier this week, Reebok unveiled a suite of new colorways for its Premier Modern Mid series, while New York-based s.k. manor hill previewed an overwhelmingly green Spring/Summer 2023 collection. Both brands teased the releases as emphatically “nature-inspired” – yet even these somehow pale in comparison to other, more experiential, runway moments. For example, Reese Cooper showed his “Seed & Soil” collection at Paris Fashion Week in the sprawling gardens of the city’s National Museum of History – but Loewe’s men’s Spring Summer 2023 stole the show. There, the brand (under Jonathan Anderson) debuted a colorful collection complemented by shoes, pants and jackets fully seeded with living grass. Only time will tell how the trend will continue to evolve, or whether any of these styles will ever become truly trail-ready. Today we’re looking at a new AR headset, watch, and bourbon. YETI just launched wheeled versions of the Roadie 48 and Roadie 60 hard-sided coolers. Both new models feature sturdy “puncture-resistant” NeverFlat wheels and a periscope handle for easy transport. The brand calls both models “virtually indestructible” and emphasizes that they’re both built to deliver the same cooling power vans have gotten used to. The Wheeled Roadie 48 is available for purchase at $450, but fans will have to wait to secure the higher-capacity Wheeled Roadie 60 on August 23, when it will retail for $500.

Magic Leap Announces Release Date For Its Coveted Headset

Last year, Magic Leap shared its new Magic Leap 2 headset with a select group as part of its early adopter program. Since then, many have eagerly waited to try the new augmented reality headset for themselves. The company has now announced that it will release three ‘editions’ of the headset (the Base edition, the Developer Pro edition and the Enterprise edition) beginning September 30. The highest tier, Magic Leap 2 Enterprise, is designed for users who intend to use the device for “large-scale deployments.” It will retail for $4,999 and come with two years of access to enterprise features and quarterly software releases. The other models will retail for $3,299 and $4,099 respectively, and be sold through Insight in the U.S.

Greubel Forsey Launches Something Spectacular

Greubel Forsey describes its new Tourbillon 24 Secondes Architecture as “wholly atypical” and “unlike any other Greubel Forsey timepiece ever created.” Encircled by a sapphire crystal ring, the titanium case hovers above the 354 parts of the movement – all of which are cast fully on display. CEO Antonio Clace emphasizes that the “concentration of architecture and creativity is represented by each and every component” and calls the new watch a “natural evolution” for the brand. The dynamic open-worked movement is housed in an understandably large (47.05 mm diameter) case, and the brand will only release 65 pieces in this series (over the next three years).

Barrell Craft Spirits has become renowned for its award-winning bourbons and unconventional approach to production. The team sources spirits from over 65 different suppliers across the globe before aging and blending them in Kentucky. While this approach is a celebrated element in most Scotch production, it’s rarely seen in American Whiskey. Now, the brand is releasing Bourbon Batch 033. The release marries liquid from high-rye and high-corn barrels (ranging from five to nine years old), all distilled and aged in American white oak in Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee. The resulting bourbon offers everything from pear, nasturtium and peppermint on the nose to champagne, applesauce, allspice and juniper on the palate.
