Accessories are getting… weirder. Just two days ago, Fendi released a baseball cap with a pair of sunglasses attached at the brim. The brand printed its logo across the lenses for added ‘anonymity’ and the piece made waves as the ultimate accessory for every master-of-disguise. Then, Balenciaga released a bag that doubles as a wireless speaker. Created in partnership with the audio experts at Bang & Olufsen, the bag includes a hidden compartment where one can stash their phone, wallet, keys – or anything else. To top it off, Balenciaga also unveiled the “Balenciaga Face Shield Engineered by Mercedes-AMG F1 Applied Science.” The face shield is made of ink-tinted, coated polyurethane that is molded to one’s face. It harnesses anti-fog technology to ensure it’s fully breathable and is equipped to stabilize CO2 intake. Talk about cutting-edge gear. Today we’re looking at a packable firepit, new trail running shoes and a collection of luxury whiskies. This is Today in Gear.

Bring the Heat

Packing out a firepit can often feel cumbersome – if not impossible – which is why Arnaud has released a truly portable, lightweight version. The team’s Firekorf allows users to build a fire on top of a wire mesh “firebag” that sits hoisted up atop four stainless steel legs. The piece’s collapsible design also ensures it can easily be rolled up into a small carrier bag that can be packed right into your backpack. The Firekorf itself currently retails for €119,00 (about $121 USD) but users can also add accessories like a grill top or roasting spit to round out their kit.
