In a press release last week, the company has revealed that it has filed paperwork with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, “relating to the proposed initial public offering of its common stock.” The release didn’t indicate how many shares would be released or the price, but given that the social media platform recently raised $700 million back in August (and boasts of a valuation of over $10 billion), it’s looking like the right time for the tech company to finally take the plunge nearly 17 years after it was founded. While it’s not going to have the same level of protection as, say, using a VPN, the browser is designed to be, “an everyday browsing app that respects your privacy,” according to CEO Gabriel Weinberg. The interface is intentionally cleaner than major competitors (stripping out “unnecessary cruft and clutter that’s accumulated over the years in major browsers”) and has been tested to operate faster than Chrome.

You’re likely familiar with Japan’s history in preserving “Ivy Style,” but Japan also nurtured a subculture called “Heavy Duty.” Inspired by outdoorsy American college students in the 1970s, it’s a blend of prep and traditional hiking style (and kind of like a precursor to today’s gorpcore). The North Face Purple Label’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection continues in that subculture’s legacy in a modern way, dropping military and hiking trousers and utility parkas, alongside tie-dye tees and colorful collared shirts. Designed by iconic (and beloved) watch designer Gérald Genta, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is responsible for creating and defining the “luxury sport watch” category following its initial release in 1972, and has remained high in demand ever since. The opportunity to own the very first iteration — the Royal Oak owned by Genta himself — is an opportunity many will not want to miss. The watch is coming up for auction at Sotheby’s this May as a loose extension of the “Gérald Genta: Icon of Time” event. The only remaining question is simple: How high will the final bid be?
