Maybe it’s just us pining for the recently wrapped weekend on a Monday morning, but we’re ready to get right back outside. Sure, it could be that it’s officially hitting under 50-degrees here in NYC (just ask the local weather folks), but looking around the extended gear universe, it appears that most brands are feeling that autumnal urge to spend more time outdoors as well. From the tech space to the rugged apparel collections (and, in Snow Peak’s case, collaborations) that have hit our feeds, this is a look at the new releases that are inspiring us to hike a local trail, spend the evenings under the stars (or just jump in a pile of leaves). Kicking off a new week, this is Today in Gear.

Today in Gear is our daily roundup of all the latest product announcements, drops and news. Want your question featured in our weekly “Ask an Expert” column? Send your most pressing product questions to [email protected].

This Blundstone ankle boot blends all-day comfort with classic style.

boots Blundstone

Once you buy a pair of Blundstones, it’s hard not to not wear them constantly. We’re currently impressed by its #1901 Ankle Boot — a style that delivers an upscale appearance without sacrificing Blundstone’s hard-wearing appeal. Designed with a slim profile in water-resistant leather and shock-absorptive XRD technology in forefoot and heel, once you pull these boots on, you won’t want to pull them off any time soon.

Snow Peak and Mountain of Moods team up for a (fittingly) snow-ready capsule collection.

fleece middle jacket Mountain of Moods

With shared roots near Japan’s Mount Tanigawa, Snow Peak and Mountain of Moods seem damn near destined to work together. Incorporating recycled polyester for a more sustainably-minded design, the snow-adjacent gear includes several fleece items and accessories built for a variety of conditions. Keen-eyed Snow Peak fans will also notice the use of the Mount Tanigawa logo, revived from the 1970s.

Go from sidewalk to trail with Reebok’s Gore-Tex-adorned hybrid sneaker.

If you’re looking for an “all-conditions” sneaker, you’d be hard-pressed to do better than Reebok’s Zig Kinetica II Edge. Starting from the inside, out, the liner of the shoe uses Gore-Tex Infinium Thermium, which prevents heat from escaping around the foot (without added bulk). Reebok’s Floatride cushioning supports the entire midsole and forefoot, with a Vibram Ecostep outsole for high-traction regardless of terrain.

Bring Bose speaker technology wherever you go this season with the SoundLink Flex.

When it comes to the Bose SoundLink Flex, you won’t need to worry about where you bring this speaker. On top of Bose’s well-deserved reputation for top-of-the-line sound, the SoundLink Flex has 12 hours of battery life, proprietary PositionIQ technology (which caters the audio output to its surroundings) and is IP67 rated for waterproof and dust-proof use.

Talk about camping in style: Neighborhood launches full suite of camping essentials.

hatchet in chair Neighborhood

You’re likely familiar with Japanese label Neighborhood thanks to its biker-inspired lifestyle and streetwear collections. The brand has once again added camping gear to its mix, with a range that includes gear like a hatchet, lantern, kettle and two-seater chair — on top of a chore coat, overalls and an apron. If you’re looking for an alternative to Snow Peak (but with more streetwear edge) this drop is for you.
