Summit L5 Gore-Tex Pro Jacket by The North Face
Meet the premier GORE-TEX Pro Jacket from The North Face’s prestigious Summit Series. The cutting-edge three layer material makes the shell waterproof, breathable and windproof. But it’s the years of design knowledge cultivated from testing with world-class climbers that truly separate this jacket from the rest of the pack. That heritage shines through several key details including a helmet compatible hood with large Cohaesive cord locks, matte PU pit zips for venting, internal secure-zip mesh pockets that are accessible via the left alpine chest pocket and a removable powder skirt. If you’re looking for a premium shell for hiking and climbing, this one is guaranteed to last the rest of your life. — Gear Patrol

TIG-gear-patrol-mclaren-senna

McLaren Senna
McLaren revealed to the world the new addition to its Ultimate Series line of cars, the Mclaren Senna. The no-compromise track car that happens to be road-legal (just) makes due with a 789 horsepower 4.0-liter twin turbo V8. It’s the brand’s most advanced and capable non-hybrid supercar which carries a price tag of just over $1,000,000. But that doesn’t really matter because of the 500 examples set for production, all of them have already sold. Better luck next time. — Bryan Campbell

TIG-gear-patrol-The-North-Face-International

The North Face International Collection
Ahead of the 2018 Winter Games in South Korea, The North Face has launched a limited edition International Collection. The collection features a handful of the brand’s staple products in patriotic colorways. Our favorite? The star-clad Base Camp Duffel. — AJ Powell

TIG-gear-patrol-3sixteen-leather-jacket

3sixteen X Schott NYC “Arabica Cowhide” Perfecto
3sixteen teamed up with Schott NYC to create a unique version of the latter brand’s iconic Perfecto motorcycle jacket. It uses an exclusive leather from Horween, dubbed “Arabica Cowhide,” that’s made from a supple hide with a deep brown color and a hard “sugary” surface application that will break up with wear, showing the lighter brown shade beneath. Only 100 jackets will be made, and they’ll go on sale December 20th for $1,100 at select stores and at 3sixteen’s website.— Andrew Connor

TIG-gear-patrol-landrover

Fully Restored Range Rover by Legacy Overland
Land Rover Defenders seem to get all the glory these days, but Legacy Overland’s Project balmoral — an immaculate ’73 Range Rover frame-off restoration — deserves the spotlight. Finished in Bahama Gold and sporting a completely redone interior with velvet cloth seats with Palomino trim finishings, the Range Rover is a perfect way to show how capable off-roaders don’t need to skimp on luxury to be adept in the dirty stuff. — Bryan Campbell

TIG-gear-patrol-Canyon-bike

Canyon Spectral 2018 Mountain Bike
There have been plenty of reasons to get excited about Canyon bikes in 2017 (especially if they live in the US), but the year isn’t done yet, and neither is Canyon. Today the German bicycle company revealed the 2018 update for its trail powerhouse, the Spectral. The mountain bike features an all-new rear suspension and linkage and is designed with a range of weatherproof upgrades including an integrated seat post clamp and cables that allow riders to focus more on riding and less on maintenance. — Tanner Bowden

TIG-gear-patrol-PUBG-Xbox

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One
If you’re on the pulse of the gaming world, you’ll undoubtedly have heard about PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. It’s one of the most popular games of the year, and sets online players against each other in a Counter-Strike-style shootout, except the map keeps getting smaller and smaller during the round, forcing players closer together, which ultimately ends in a massive king-of-the-hill style melee. Then the next round begins. Up until now, the game has only been available on PC, but now you can download it on your Xbox. The game is enhanced for the Xbox One X, too.–Tucker Bowe

TIG-gear-patrol-Damasko-DS80-Chronograph

Damasko DS80 Chronograph
Damasko, a German watchmaker with a penchant for making tough, legible tool watches, has released a new chronograph that replaces traditional sub-dials with centrally-located chronograph seconds and minute hands. The result is a clean, easy-to-read dial. The brand heavily modified the ubiquitous Valjoux 7750 movement to achieve this. This being a Damasko, there’s loads of engineering in the name of durability — the case is ice-hardened, a black, scratch-resistant coating is available as an option, and the movement sits inside an anti-magnetic cage offering protection up to 1,000 gauss.

TIG-gear-patrol-Drakes-40th

Drake’s 40th-Anniversary Capsule Collection
To celebrate four decades of business, Drake’s is releasing a collection of ties and pocket squares hand-printed in Macclesfield, England. The ties ($185) are cut from heavy silk twill and the pocket squares ($85) recreate original paisley and bird of paradise designs. The pieces are a great addition to any professional wardrobe, and, if you’re still holiday shopping, they make great gifts. — John Zientek

TIG-gear-patrol-Gregory-Divide-Series-Luggage

Gregory Divide Series Luggage
Backpackers have put their faith (and backs) behind the name Gregory for years. Its backpacks have been tested over miles of trail, so why shouldn’t it also make luggage capable of covering just as much distance on wheels? New to Gregory’s bag lineup is a travel collection called the Divide Series, which includes the rugged Quadro Hardcase Roller. The suitcase glides around on four multi-directional wheels and includes an expandable ActiveShield compartment that’s built to keep your dirty clothes separate from your clean. Gregory is well-versed in durability, and it’s constructed this suitcase’s exterior with a tough, reinforced polycarbonate that’ll stand up to continual abuse by baggage handlers. — Tanner Bowden

TIG-gear-patrol-Haglofs-Jacket

Haglöfs V-Series Down Jacket
In recent years outdoor companies have steadily integrated Dyneema into an extensive array of products. The spacey-looking ultralight material that by weight is purported to be the strongest in the world has been incorporated into duffels, backpacks, blue jeans and shell jackets. Now, Swedish-based Haglöfs has bound it to another performance favorite: down. Its V-Series Down Jacket brings the brawn of Dyneema to 900-fill goose down in a combination that’s exceptionally durable and supremely lightweight. The jacket features an adjustable hood, internal stow pockets and reflective accents, and is currently only available in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany and the UK. — Tanner Bowden

TIG-gear-patrol-Apple-IMac

Apple iMac Pro
Announced back in June, the iMac Pro was touted as Apple’s most powerful computer ever. And after what seems like an age, you can finally order one today. As a recap, the iMac Pro has an 8-Core Xeon processor (which is upgradeable to 18 cores), a 5K display and super fancy AMD Radeon Pro Vega GPU card that’ll, according to Apple, produce “the most advanced graphics ever in a Mac.” For most people, the iMac Pro will be overkill, not to mention out of their price range. But if you’re a creative who knows exactly how to use this supremely powerful all-in-one machine, the iMac Pro starts at $5K. — Tucker Bowe

TIG-gear-patrol-Backwash-issue-3

Backwash Magazine Issue 3
Surfing may seem like a fair-weather sport, but there are many diehards chasing waves in locales that aren’t all turquoise waters and white sand beaches. Backwash’s latest 160-page book focuses on the waves of the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea that beat against the shores of the United Kingdom, and the hearty souls who ride them. — Tanner Bowden

TIG-gear-patrol-Wolverine-Mocs

Wolverine Lodge Moc Slipper
Handcrafted in Maine with premium Horween leather, the Lodge Moc slipper is the first-ever slipper in Wolverine’s ‘1000 Mile’ collection, essentially their finest and most long-lasting product line. Much like Wolverine’s classic 1000 Mile boots, the Lodge Moc Slipper will resist decades of wear and tear, while a Shearling-lined interior provides cozy warmth. — Michael Finn

TIG-gear-patrol-Manduka-Yoga-Mat

Manduka eQua Yoga Mat
No activity is immune to a proliferation of specialized gear, not even yoga, despite its inherent focus on simplicity. Manduka’s latest yoga mat, the eQua, combines mat and towel into one in an attempt to pare down the amount of stuff required for your practice. Manduka constructs the mat’s base with the sustainably-sourced tree rubber it’s known for but uses a microfiber towel top that’s extra grippy when slightly wet from perspiration. That non-rubber top also comes in three stylish, artist-inspired prints. — Tanner Bowden

TIG-gear-patrol-Douchebags-Travel-Accessories

Db Equipment Travel Accessories
Douchebags (yes, that’s the company’s name) was founded in 2012 by professional skier Jon Olsson and designer Truls Brataas with the goal to build a better ski bag. They succeeded, but they didn’t stop — the company has won numerous awards for the minimalist style of its collection of bags. Now the team is taking on travel accessories with a new line that includes laptop sleeves, a Dopp kit, passport cover, luggage tag and more. Leather and the color black are common motifs. — Tanner Bowden

TIG-gear-patrol-Adidas-Sport-Eyewear

Adidas Progressor Splite Goggles
Lately, most of the news from Adidas has to do with Kanye West collab shoes you can’t get. But this week the athletic brand released a product that’s actually revolutionary: ultralight ski goggles. They’re called the Progressor Splite, and they weigh just under 80 grams (about 2.6 ounces). The goggles are constructed with a frameless design that’s remarkably flexible. — Tanner Bowden

TIG-gear-patrol-Satechi-USB-C-Hub

Satechi USB Type-C Clamp Hub Pro
In case the new iMac Pro’s bevy of ports wasn’t enough, this Satechi hub adds a few more: one USB-C port, three USB 3.0 ports and a Micro/SD slot. It’s designed to fasten to the bottom of the display and face you, so you don’t have to reach around to plug/unplug your cords. And it comes in space gray or silver, so you can match it with your iMac Pro or iMac Retina 4K. — Tucker Bowe

TIG-gear-patrol-Terasu-Issue-2

Terasu Vol 02 — Connective Tissue
California-based Terasu just released its second book titled Connective Tissue. Printed in an edition of 1,000 with four cover variations, the book explores the relationship between humans and water through the work of four photographers — including Taro Tamai and Eric Wolfinger — and a microbiologist. A written supplement of five essays is included with the book and is printed in Japanese and English. — John Zientek

TIG-gear-patrol-United-Arrows-X-Citizen-Ana-Digi-Temp

United Arrows X Citizen Ana-Digi Temp
The Ana-Digi Temp was a seminal watch of the 1980s, combining a digital time readout with a classic analog display. The watch also featured a temperature gauge, a stopwatch and an alarm function, as well. It was exemplary of the tech-packed, Japanese digital watches of the ’80s, and now Citizen is re-releasing the watch through United Arrows’ Beauty & Youth store. Unfortunately it appears to be limited to sale in Japan, but if you have friends in Japan it might be time to call in a favor. — Andrew Connor
