Indian® Chief Dark Horse®

TIG-gear-patrol-indian-body-1

Among Indian’s mightiest motorcycles is the Chief Dark Horse®, a mean-looking cruiser that sounds evil. It draws style inspiration from Indian’s iconic ’40s designs; namely, the asymmetric fins and downward dual-pipe exhausts. The 111-horsepower Thunder Stroke V-Twin powers down highways with ease — and with its loud, throaty engine and blacked-out details, the bike demands attention wherever it goes.

Opinel x TOPO Designs Pocketknife

TIG-gear-patrol-1

Opinel’s century-old claim to fame, the No. 8 folding knife, given a modern uplift courtesy of TOPO Designs, the cult leader of Colorado outdoors culture. In addition to the blonde wood handle’s striking red stripe, the titanium-coated stainless steel blade is exceptionally durable, and the knife comes with a TOPO Designs sheath.

Leica M 246 Jim Marshall Edition

TIG-gear-patrol-2-2′

Jim Marshall, a renowned American photographer known for his coverage of rock ‘n’ roll in the ’60s and ’70s, is one of Leica’s most beloved brand trumpeters. In honor of Marshall’s legacy and life-long Leica loyalty, Leica is producing an extremely exclusive batch of golden-brass Leica M 246s. The exquisite camera comes with a Leica SUMMILUX-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH lens, leather shoulder strap, a portrait of Thelonius Monk signed by Marshall and a coffee table book containing Marshall’s never-before-seen photos from jazz festivals in the ’60s. Only 50 cameras will be sold.

The Ball and Buck x Randolph Angler

TIG-gear-patrol-3-2

Based on classic pilot sunglasses, the Anglers are designed with the fisherman in mind. The bayonet temples sit steady on the ears, and the polarized lenses make them ideal for outdoor activities. They’re also great for the city, and the antique brass finish and square frame give them a dash of ’70s swagger. – Grant Tillery, Editorial Intern

Brooklyn Slate Co. Quarry Mug

TIG-gear-patrol-6

“Over half a billion years in the making,” says Brooklyn Slate Co., and they’re not entirely wrong: the 12-ounce clay mug is glazed with speckles of crushed black slate from a quarry in upstate New York. It looks great and lasts forever, just like their famous slate cutting boards.

Sandusa Beach Bean Bag

TIG-gear-patrol-4-2

Part bean bag, part beach towel, totally waterproof. Another one of those forehead-slapping, wish-I-thought-of-that products.

Gear Patrol Magazine: Issue Four

TIG-gear-patrol-5-2

From the Gear Patrol Store: It’s easy to forget the perks of home until you leave it. We know because we’ve put in the miles, dogsledding through Sweden’s frozen Norrland to test down parkas and borrowing million-dollar Porsche supercars to hot lap the Nürburgring. And that was just in issue three. That’s why, for our fourth and latest issue of Gear Patrol magazine, we decided to stay local — at least by our standards — and bring some much-needed attention to our own backyard, a.k.a. America.

Western Rise DryWeight Merino Henley

TIG-gear-patrol-Western-Rise

Merino wool has been evangelized enough. You get it. This Henley is made of the stuff, plus some moisture-wicking Tencel for good measure. Wear it during a night on the town, or for two shower-less weeks deep in the wilderness.

Mission Critical Baby Carrier

TIG-gear-patrol-Baby-Carrier

We do not condone lugging your baby into a firefight, but just in case you do, here’s a tactical baby carrier with a MOLLE panel for rapid-access
grenades and pistols milk bottles and baby food. Tiny green beret and cigar-shaped pacifier sold separately.

Koio Collective Canvas Sneakers

TIG-gear-patrol-Koio

If you still need a gift for Father’s Day, a pair of canvas sneakers will get the job done. The Koio Canvas is made in Italy and has a classic profile and modern colorways that make it easy to wear with both shorts and suits. Their versatility means dad can wear them to the office and out on the town. The Sneakers will be available later today. – Grant Tillery, Editorial Intern

Good Cigar Co. Cigar Subscription

TIG-gear-patrol-Good-Cigar-Co

Inside each humidity-sealed pouch, which can be purchased individually or shipped monthly right to your door, are two expert-curated cigars, a cutter, matches and a pamphlet describing the cigars’ origins and tasting notes. Excellent for seasoned aficionados and curious newcomers alike.

TrailNest Rooftop Hammock

TIG-gear-patrol-Trailnest-Hammock

TrailNest’s origin story follows a logical if not familiar trajectory: man gets sick of sweaty nights camping out in the back of a truck; man buys hammock; man is harassed by coyotes throughout the night while sleeping in hammock; man searches for way to sleep on top of car. And so TrailNest and the rooftop hammock stand were born, ushering in a new spin on overland camping that replaces trailers and pop-up tents with a collapsable, roof rack-style armature capable of supporting up to 250 pounds. TrailNest also makes accessories like floor panels, a telescoping ladder and a stand that supports two free-swinging sleepers. – Tanner Bowden, Editorial Apprentice

Jack Mason Field Chronograph 42mm

TIG-gear-patrol-jack-mason-body

Jack Mason’s first-ever bronze watch combines the best of two worlds: that of rugged summer adventure gear, with a durable rubber strap and burly construction that’s water-resistant up to 10 ATM; and the timeless style of a solid bronze case that will look better with age. It’s also a quartz-powered, center second chronograph, which means it’s always accurate, no matter your summertime pursuits.

TIG-gear-patrol-Magnum-Prints

Right now, Magnum Photos, the international photography cooperative that counts among its members some of the world’s most revered photographers, is hosting its annual Square Print Sale. The collection includes 78 museum-quality 6 x 6-inch photographs, many of which you’ve likely seen before; each photo is either signed or stamped by the photographer or, in the case of deceased photographers, by their estate, making it a rare, certifiable collector’s item. At Auction: 1966 Ford Bronco 4×4

TIG-gear-patrol-Ford-Bronco

A flawless restoration of a 1966 model, often thought to be one of the Bronco‘s best years. Along with polished cosmetic details, there’s plenty of new organs under the hood, like an aluminum intake, Edelbrock 650 cfm carburetor and an MSD ignition.

Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Express Dock HD

TIG-gear-patrol-Belkin

With fewer and fewer ports built into our technology today, a dock is a great way to expand the number of connections to your computer. Belkin’s Thunderbolt 3 Express Dock HD can connect eight separate devices through one Thunderbolt cable. The dock supports dual 4K video output and can daisy chain up to five Thunderbolt devices. Clocking in at 20Gbps, the Express Dock HD is eight times faster than USB 3.0; Belkin says it can transfer a 4K movie in less than 30 seconds.

Vadolibero Bike Safe S

TIG-gear-patrol-Bike-Safe-S

Have you seen Vadolibero’s Bike Shelf? It has to be one of the most outrageously indulgent bike accessories ever created. The Bike Safe S, a locking stainless steel wall mount, is a less outrageous yet still indulgent bike storage solution. Upon request, you can personalize the mount with an Italian leather saddle and keychain, available in five colors: dark brown, black, white, yellow and red.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Tech Fleece”

TIG-gear-patrol-Nike-Foams

This Friday, Nike is releasing a new derivative of the cult-favorite Air Foamposite Pro, updated with some lifestyle-y, dark gray heathered fleece. There’s also a carbon fiber plate on the midsole, glossy Swooshes and a translucent blue outsole.

W & P Designs Extra Large Ice Cube Tray

TIG-gear-patrol-Peak-ice-cubes

From the Gear Patrol Store: W & P Designs has improved the overlooked mundanity that is the ice tray. This silicon mold is BPA-free and backed up by a stainless steel frame that will not warp. A protective lid keeps errant freezer flavors away from the four large cubes of ice, but if it does need a cleaning, it will be fine in the dishwasher. Available in gray, blue and white.

Basis by Elysium Health

TIG-gear-patrol-elysium-body

Aging is far more than cosmetic. We’re all concerned about wrinkles, but scientists suggest we instead consider aging as a cellular process. Elysium Health employed that insight when creating Basis, a daily supplement designed to increase levels of a coenzyme called NAD+. NAD+ is required for fundamental life processes like ATP synthesis (the source of energy), DNA maintenance and regulating circadian rhythms — and it declines as we age. NAD+ is so important, some scientists even call it “the golden nucleotide.” Gear Patrol readers get free two-day shipping on orders over $75 through June 14 with the code GPFATHERSDAY2017 — just in time to impress dad. (Be sure to select two-day shipping at checkout.)

Master & Dynamic x Bamford Watch Department MW60 Headphones

Tig-gear-patrol-Bamford-Headphones

Bamford Watch Department, a distinguished merchant of personalized luxury watches, gave Master & Dynamic’s most advanced headphones a very special treatment: aqua saffiano leather, aqua logo and an aqua aux cord. Aside from those limited-edition subtleties, the lambskin ear pads are both absurdly comfortable and naturally noise-cancelling, while the 45mm, omnidirectional neodymium drivers deliver spine-tingling hi-fi sound.

ONA x Saltfish Surf Co. Bowery Camera Bag

Tig-gear-patrol-ONA-Bags

Becket Simonon Morgen Trainers

Tig-gear-patrol-Morgen-trainer

The GAT, or German Army Trainer, is undoubtedly having a moment. Beckett Simonon’s spin on this classic sneaker combines the craftsmanship of the brand’s dress shoes with the sleek, laid-back style of the classic GAT. A white, full-grain leather upper with water-resistant suede details meets a rugged gum sole. – Caitlyn Girardi, Social Media Coordinator

Yron Grill

Tig-gear-patrol-Yron-Grill

Unless you live Germany, Switzerland or Austria, you can’t buy the Yvon Grill. It sure is fun to look at, though, isn’t it? That cast-iron crucible; those oaken legs! Who knows — maybe if you learn to speak German (Yron is a German brand), you can coax them into shipping overseas. Ein Mann kann träumen.

Asket Two-Year Sweatshirt

Tig-gear-patrol-Asket-sweatshirt

Asket’s new sweatshirt, launching today, took an entire two years to develop — a great deal of time in any product’s lifecycle. (It’s been released before, after which feedback was gathered and the shirt improved.) So, it’s a great sweatshirt; the thinking man’s sweatshirt, perhaps. Egyptian cotton in a trim silhouette; three colors; 15 (yep) size variations. – Nick Caruso, Assistant Editor

Gear Patrol Magazine: Issue Four

Tig-gear-patrol-gp-mag

From the Gear Patrol Store: It’s easy to forget the perks of home until you leave it. We know because we’ve put in the miles, dogsledding through Sweden’s frozen Norrland to test down parkas and borrowing million-dollar Porsche supercars to hot lap the Nürburgring. ROLI Seaboard Block

TIG-gear-patrol-Roli

The word “revolutionary” is not a word we use lightly. No one should. We reserve that word for things like the ROLI Seaboard Block — perhaps the future of electronic music. Essentially, the Block is a miniature version of the original Seaboard Rise, a revolutionary electronic key-less keyboard that’s played like some kind of extraterrestrial rubber slab: sounds are made and manipulated by striking, gliding, sliding, pressing and lifting. And the craziest part: anyone with even the most basic understanding of music can pick it up and start playing.

LEGO Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

TIG-gear-patrol-Lego

See? Legos can be for adults. Build it, shelf it, admire it.

Tern Vektron Folding Bicycle

Twelve South Magic Bridge

TIG-gear-patrol-Twelvesouth

From the Gear Patrol Store: MagicBridge connects your Apple Wireless Keyboard and your Magic Trackpad 2, creating a one-piece control surface that lets you type and swipe more efficiently. MagicBridge can sit on your desktop or rest on your lap, allowing you to completely control your Mac from afar. Connecting your keyboard and trackpad brings everything together, like a MacBook. Doesn’t matter if you’re left- or right-handed; MagicBridge can place your Trackpad on whichever side you prefer. It works like magic, without the hocus-pocus.
