Leica X-U

If you’re a Lawrence of Arabia/Jacques Cousteau type and have been unsatisfied with the crop of ruggedized compact cameras available to date, then Leica might have solved your problem. The new X-U is a burly-yet-svelte, aluminum-and-matte-plastic camera that can handle dust storms, drops from up to four feet, and up to 8.3 fathoms of water. The camera’s party piece, though, is its big APS-C sensor and 23mm f/1.7 lens (equivalent to 35mm on a full-frame camera), which should ensure that you’ll have some pretty amazing proof of all the shenanigans you got up to.
